Researching surname PIERROT or PIERO or BIERO. I have familiarized myself with basic French words in order to translate civil records for this region, but am at an impasse again. The translator tools available on Internet have not helped. I think the marriage record I am trying to translate is a combination of French & German. It is from the French Republican Year VII. Sue, A search on geneanet.org for the grooms name HENZ turned up the answer. It looks like the groom was born in  Bliesranspach which is in present day Kleinblittersdorf in the region of Saarbrücken in the Saarland, Germany. If you go to geneanet.org and search for HENZ and type "Bliesranspach" into the place filter you will find this marriage record in other family trees that are public. I had a hard time with the one, but the index a few pages later confirms both the date and the wife. Dominique is a weaver (tisserand), born in Reguisheim. Hello, I would greatly appreciate it if someone could please help me with a translation for a Marriage Acte which took place in Bollwiller, France. It can be found on page 174 of MARRIAGES for Bollwiller, 1793-1862. After a quick look at the mothers death record, her name was Sarrah not Yarrah. She was 46 years old at her death. Sarrah's husband was Joseph Bernard Baumann. It showed the 1951 funeral procession in Colmar for a distant cousin, known as l'Oncle Hansi. Also found lots of images, exterior and interior, of churches in villages where my ancestors lived.
