I know that he served for several years as a jailer for the Pike County Sheriffs Dept., during the terms of the Carroll and Reeves families. Plez was the son of Kinchen Ellis Nichols and Martha Carroll-Nichols. She was the sister of Marion Carroll who was the Sheriff, starting in 1893. I am also aware of the murder trial of Johnson and Hale. I know that Plez ran for Sheriff when his half-brother, Ben Reeves, decided not to run in the early 1930s. Did he become Sheriff and can anyone share any info on these people? I would appreciate any help that I can get.
