I have 3 branches of Sims in my family, the earliest of which is Waller Sims, Va. b. about 1793. Two other branches of Sims play a role in my tree but I have yet to connect all of them although I'm working on it. 2nd line of Sims According to information I’ve received from others it appears from the census records that Simpson Sims and his wife Mary, had a son named James Henry Sims. They appear in Pike County, Alabama, “about 1850 with son James Henry, about 1 year old." I have not verified this list of possible children personally, but information that I’ve received indicates it was established by Pike County census reports. It is believed that James Henry Sims married Mary E. Hines and had the following children: James was known as Jim and is buried in the old Sims Cemetery in Pike County, Alabama, off the road between Troy and Luverne, Alabama. Children of James Henry Sims and Mary E. Hines 1) Will (Willy?) R. Sims b. 19 July 1870, d. 26 May 1939 and is buried at Mt. Hebron Baptist Cemetery, Enterprise, Alabama. He married Georgia Ann Walker and they had 7 children two of which died at birth. (I will list their children below after the children of James Henry and Mary Sims). 2) James Irving Sims who married a Willie Etta Sims and they too had 7 children listed from his obituary. (Children listed below). 3) John Henry Sims married a Laura Flowers and I have 3 children attributed to them. (Children listed below). 4) Wallace Sims 5) John Sims 6) “Pinkie” Sims 7) Sally Sims 8) Martha Sims 9) Joseph Sims 10) Kattie Sims 11) James Sims Children of James Irving Sims who married a Willie Etta: 1) Roy Sims b. about 1921, d. 30 November 1974, in Troy, Alabama. Information from the obituary of Roy: "Survivors included the widow, Mrs. Roy Sims of Luverne; one son, Bobby Ray Sims of Dozier; four sisters, Mrs. Ruby Lee Williamson, Mrs. Evie Skipper, and Mrs. Mary Finlay, all of the Brantley and Mrs. Gladys Fowler of Luverne; one brother, T. J. Sims of Montgomery; and one grand-daughter, Kimberly Sims of Dozier. “Roy Sims was also held in the County Jail at Luverne for questioning of his involvement in the murder of Virgil Merrill at Dozier. Sims allegedly killed Merrill with a pistol shot in the left eye." Roy Sims also had a son named Bobby Ray Sims. 2) Mary Annie Sims/married a Finlay 3) Ruby Lee Sims/married a Williamson 4) Clyde Sims 5) T. J. Sims 6) Gladys Sims/married a Fowler 7) Evie Sims/ married a Skipper. Children of Will (Willy?) R. and his wife Georgia Ann Walker Sims: 1) William Sims, b. 22 April 1907, d. 23 April 1907, buried at Mt. Hebron Baptist Cemetery, Enterprise, Alabama 2) Kerley Sims, b. 13 march 1909, d. 13 March 1909, Mt. Hebron Baptist Cemetery, Enterprise, Alabama 3) Dewey Sims, b. 4 November 1910, d. February 1982. Dewey married Osie or Ocie. 4) Rosa Lee Sims, b. 1912. d. February 1982. Her first husband was John William Walker and her 2nd husband was "Bud" Sims who she married after 1964 at the death of her first husband. (This is the 3rd line of Sims' that I’m trying to associate with my family. My uncle, James Rodgers Wilkinson told me before he died that he thought that Bud Sims' father and Will R. Sims were brothers, but if not that, he felt they were definitely related. Haven't been able to verify this yet.) 5) Lela Mae Sims, b. 1915 6) Leona Sims, b. 1916, married Joel D. Fortane 7) Hermon Sims, b. 19 December 1918 in Luverne, Crenshaw County, Alabama; d. 13 February 1954 in Enterprise Coffee County, Alabama. Hermon is my father and he married daughter of Alma Lucinda Rodgers (daughter of Martha Annie C. Sims, daughter of Cordelia Barrett and Stephen Olin Sims---see first line of Sims listed.) and Robert Lee Wilkinson, Cora Elaine Wilkinson. Hermon's second wife was Sybil Cumi Faulk Hammack. Children of Hermon and Cora Elaine Wilkinson Sims: 1) Albert Sims, b. 03 June 1938, Luverne, Crenshaw County, Alabama, d. 02 December 1994, Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas. 2) Mildred Joyce Sims b. 15 September 1946, Dozier, Crenshaw County, Alabama, currently living in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. 3) Hermona Carol Sims, b. 15 September 1947, Selma, Dallas County, Alabama, currently living in Jasper, Alabama. Children of Hermon and Sybil Cumi Faulk Hammack. I don’t have any additional information on this family. I have heard that Sybil Cumi Faulk Hammack Sims moved to Montgomery, Alabama and that Ruby Nell Sims married in Montgomery (?) on 27 June 1968 but I do not know to whom. 1) Ruby Nell Sims, b. 31 October 1951 2) Dorothy Nell Sims, b. 15 February 1953 3) Syble Ann Sims, b. 23 August 1954 Children of John Henry Sims and Laura Flowers: 1) Elbert Shelby Sims 2) Gertha Sims, b. about 1915 3) Della Sims who married Dewey Grant and had a daughter named Mamie. I have reason to believe that more Sims families are connected to my branch, in particular: Robert Eugene Sims, father of Harold Gene Sims and Billy Henry Sims. Robert Eugene Sims is the son of Charlie Oscar Sims. Some of Charlie’s siblings are: 1) Gus R.
