Posted on: Pike County, Al Query Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Al/Pike/12153 Surname: Wilkerson ------------------------- My GGGrandparents were also in the Pike County area until the late 1800's. My Great great Uncle was Archie Wilkerson he married a lady by the name Martha Ann Mc Millan. She had a brother named John Evander McMillan, one named Daniel Murdock , another named Duncan Alexander, a sister Nancy Florella, brother, William Luachlin, brother Edward A. and Francis Murdock. The mother to all these children was Margaret McKinnon she was in Bullock County Ala(was Pike)at the time of John Evander's birth July 17, 1849.They all went to Ashley County Arkansas around 1872. The names of the brothers of my GGAunt are so much the same names of the ones you are looking for , except they are McMillans. This was a Scottish settlement in those days.My family as well as the McMillans came from the Isle of Skye,Scotland and migrated from New York, to Virginia, to North and South Carolina. The McMillan family built a church in the Pike(Bullock Co.) Ala. area, it is called Bethel Presbyterian Church, my GGGrandfather is buried there. The spelling of the name Laughlin in the book that I have is Luachlin....the Scottish way? I wish the book contained more about my family, but the McMillan's must have been better record keepers than the Wilkerson's!. There is also a mention of a Walter McKinnon. No more than that, a mention. When I read your querie, the names just popped out at me. They were so simular. Hope this helps in some small way. If I can help let me know.
