    1. Family of Louisa Faulk b. 1846 John Saumel Pitman b. 1840
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Faulk, Pitman Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/QU.2ADI/3901 Message Board Post: This is what I have so far their Daughter Mary Lillie Belle Pitman married a Kent I have no other information and would like his name and info and any children. Much of this information is from the data of Charles Schwitzer who reasearched the Faulk line for many years. The story of the murder because of an insult runs in the Faulk family appearing several times but since there is no statute of limitations for murder he would have been aprehended and tried upon his return so he either just wanted to go to Texas or as happened with many was forced to leave due to economics and carpetbagers and returned after normalization. The births of his children do not substanciate this I will look in Shelby County Census records for them. Talton and his family arrived in shelby around 1870 to 71 so he would have needed to leave after the birth of his last child in 1878 so there may be more story than substance here. The dates I have for children are 1866 on, Louisa would have been 20 there are two children without dates so they either came in 1860 and 62 or later. Many of the women at the time in Pike county married very young so a marriage at 14 or 15 is entirely possible as the age of consent in Alabama at this time was 13. Any assistance will be appreciated I have photos of Talton Faulk's marker and reciently cleaned his and his wife's her marker was stained very dark. They are buried in New Hope Cemetery, in Shelby County, Texas and many of their descendants are there also. Talton is Jo Ann's GG Granduncle my GG Granduncle is buried about 30 feet from him I knew his name and that he had enlisted in the CSA in Shelby but did not know where he was buried we just walked up on his marker while looking. Their grand children married which makes it even more interesting. They were contemporaries did they attend the church at the cemetery together and if so did they live near to each other and have any business transactions. ****************************************************************** 1.
