The town of Goshen is having its Centenniel celebration on Saturday, March 31st and Sunday, April 1st. The celebration will occur in downtown Goshen. On Saturday anyone who chooses can dress up in old timey clothes...though everyone won't be doing so. There will be a free breakfast and sausage making demonstration from 8-9 a.m. (or shorter time if the food runs out first). An old timey parade is scheduled at 11:00. There will be an Arts and Crafts Show /Old timey demos through the day. One old home will be available for tour and many quilts will be on display for viewing. For kids, old timey games, small animal farm, and free pony rides. Also a "Circus on Strings" marionette show. An antique car show will be 12-2 P.M.. During the day there will be hamburgers, hot dogs, BBQ, pizza, snow cones, and more available for purchase. >From 2-3:00, there will be a reception and presentation at Town Hall (this building includes the Senior Center). At 3:00 in the Town Hall a history of Goshen Hill (town before Goshen moved a couple of miles South), and of Goshen will be given. After the presentation, a panel of our elders and others will continue with the history of Goshen. Many pictures will be presented. Music and dancing will go on all afternoon featuring country and bluegrass music. A supper will be from 5:00-6:30, choice of chicken or fish. "To go boxes" available. $7.00 per plate. A street dance with live music will be 6:30 til 9:00. In the event of rain, it will be in the Town Hall's annex building. On Sunday, three of Goshen's churches will combine to have an old timey "Revival" at 10:00 a.m. at the Goshen HS football field (in the gym if it rains). After the service, bring your own food and join in a family picnic at 12:00 noon.. If you have roots in Pike County, or if you don't, you are welcome to come celebrate Goshen's Centenniel.
