Hopper. She bought 132 acres of land from the federal government in what is now Dallas , and another 132 acres in what is now Crenshaw counties in Alabama. According to the Bureau of Land management site she lists her residence as Butler County Alabama . The date of the land patent according to the Bureau of Land management was 8 / 1/ 1831, Both of these properties were listed as preemptions which means that either Margaret or Samuel, or both of them were living on the land prior to purchase. Samuel J. Hopper was on the 1830 Pike County Alabama census living next door to Robert Franklin who also bought land on the same day. His was also a preemption. Who were these people? Does anyone have any information. Regarding their relationship and kinship. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Belinda Jacks
