Before moving to southeastern AL, Levi Whitehurst lived in Jackson Co, FL. Family legend says he met Mary Banks Smith in Florida. Levi Whitehurst m. Mary Banks Smith 1849 in Barbour Co, AL. The brother or brother-in-law of Mary Banks Smith was William Sidney Smith who m. Sarah (Sallie) Collins.
