Does anyone know whether the state of Alabama or the county where someone was born, have uncertified birth certificates that you can get copies of for records. I sent in an application to the Vital Statistics to get a birth certificate on my grandfather, putting down grandson as the relationship and my check came back saying that it was for immediate family only.
