Just wanted to thank all you folks who responded to my query regarding the availability of Pike Co.cemetery record listings. For the record, just in case anyone happens to know anything about this person and/or family, the primary person I am looking for is my ggg grandfather: WILLIAM HENRY SANDERS, born 4/10/1776 The information I have is that he died in 1872, in, or around, China Grove, and is buried there. On the 1870 Pike Co. census, he was listed as living with one of his sons, ALLEN WIGGINS SANDERS, born 12/30/1821, who might also be buried in that same area. It is possible there might be other SANDERS of this family there, too?? Thanks again, Winston Sanders

William Henry died during Reconstruction; during this time very few could afford to erect a permanent gravestone. For the most part the markers were made of heart pine and most of them have long since rotted away. Sorry 'bout that - good hunting, "Sonny" in Pike County, Alabama Wm.
