I forgot to put the url to the page on my site that has the survey of Carter Cemetery and the headstone of Israel Alison. http://www.katscelticroots.com/carter.htm ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ about six months ago my husband and I went to Carter Cemetery which is in Pike (barely! but still) we had finished photographing the headstones for a complete photographic survey when I noticed a headstone outside of the cemetery fence. My husband went around the fencing through the undergrowth and got a picture of the stone. This stone does not appear on the 1971 survey of the cemetery which is the only one I've seen printed anywhere. The headstone states: Israel Alison Born at the Dickson Place near Orion Aug. 2, 1888 Died Feb. 7, 1907 I'm curious if anyone on the list knows anything about the "Dickson Place" or an Alison family. A search of the 1900 Alabama census turned up nothing on Israel Alison.
