I, too, think the Troy Public Library's genealogy section has the best staff! Several years ago, I was on crutches and had a cast on my foot. When I arrived upstairs in the genealogy department and they saw that I was a little unable to get around easily, they sat me in a chair and were all over the place bringing me books to my table. They could not have been more helpful!!! I have been other years when I was able to move around and they are still just wonderful! I don't think you will find a more helpful group anywhere. I'll add my three cheers for the genealogy section there as well.... my husband and I went there a couple of years back to research my Barnett and Berrey families. After we got there he was sorry he hadn't brought his research book to work with as well as they had so much from Kentucky and Ohio where his family is from.. as well as a goodly collection of books on immigration.
