Posted on: Pike County, Al Query Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Al/Pike/11928 Surname: Brown, Holmes, Phillips ------------------------- I am researching Brown, Holmes, Phillips connections on my mother's side. They all lived in Alabama. The Brown's and Holmes were in Coffee county and the Phillips from the Pike County area, around Good Hope and Goshen. Earnest B. Brown was my great-grandfather. Three of his children were: Jay, Fanny, and my grandmother, Myrtle. Myrtle married a Holmes first and had 1 son - Forrest Holmes. She later married my grandfather, Jefferson Davis Phillips and had two children, Foy and Florene Phillips. I think mother told us that our Grandfather Jeff worked in a country store near Good Hope in the early 1900's, maybe 1916-1920. He also farmed in that community. Some neighbors of theirs were the O.D.King family, Folmars. Jeff had a brother named Joseph Alston Phillips who would be our Great-Uncle. If anyone knows of this family and can share pictures or information, I would really appreciate it. I haven't found much about myrtle's Brown-Holmes' family - and don't know where Jeff Phillips, our grandfather was buried; but, I think it is Good Hope Baptist Church cemetery. Thanks for any help you can give me.
