My grandfather was Baker Webster Mathews, and my father was Charlie Webster Mathews. Oatis Mathews (Uncle Oat) was my grandfather's brother. James Champion Mathews, along with his wife Nancy Elizabeth White Mathews, Uncle Oat, and Uncle Matt (another brother) are buried at Hope Well Cemetery in Pike County, Alabama. Oren Jefferson Mathews and Griffin Mathews were two of James Champion Mathews's brothers. I have a good deal of information on the Mathews side. Please email me so we can contact one another. I am 60 years old, the only child born to Charlie Webster Mathews and Myrtle Brown Mathews. We have 2 sons, and unfortunately, when I die, they know nothing of their ancestors.
