I have holmes ancestors from Pike County also. My great grandfather sanford lafayette holmes was born in 1873 somewhere in Pike Co. My g-g-grandfather John Holmes was born about 1846, and my g-g-g-grandfather was stephen Holmes born in North Carolina about 1811 but moved to Pike county at a young age.
