Troy Messenger 11-1-1961 J. D. Slaughter James Dalton Slaughter age 71 of Troy died Tuesday night in a Troy hospital. Funeral service will be held Thursday at 2:30 at Good Hope Baptist Church with rev. I. N. Mathews officiating. Burial will follow in the Wingard Cemetery with McGehee Funeral Home in charge. The body will lie in state at the church from 1:30 until 2:30 and will be at the Allridge Slaughter home until that time. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Lamar Adams, Troy: Two sons, Allridge Slaughter, Sr., Troy and James C. Slaughter, Banks: two sisters, Miss Corrie Slaughter, Luverne: Mrs. Elizabeth Loard of Birmingham: four brothers, M. F. Slaughter, Selma: Willie Slaughter, Luverne: Kirby Slaughter, Brantley: John Slaughter, Luverne: seven grandchildren: three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be J. F. Tillery, Hollan Spivey, Edward Mills, Ellis Freeman, J. P. Davis, Fletcher Spivey, John Taylor, Albert Whitehurst. **Note** Not my line just sharing
