    2. G. [George] L. [LAFAYETTE] SELLERS DIES; ILL ONLY SHORT TIME George L. Sellers died Wednesday evening at 9:26 o'clock after a short illness at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Fannie Lou Greathouse near Monticello. He was 55 years old and had been a Rural Carrier on the Linwood route for 24 years. He was also a Mason. He is survived by the following children: Amos Sellers [never married], Banks, Route 2; Leon [Grady] Sellers [married Mary "Mamie" Emma Fowler], of Camden; Otis [Jackson] Sellers [married Ruth Prince], of Banks, Route 2 and Mrs. Fannie Lou Greathouse [married John Perry Greathouse] of Banks, Route 2. He is also survived by the following brothers: Henry C. [Charles] Sellers of Montgomery [married Margaret Rebecca "Maggie" Loe or Lowe]; M. I. [Matthew Isom] Sellers [married Annie Elizabeth Pittman] of Columbus, Georgia; J. W. [John Wesley] Sellers [married Cora Livingston] of Goodman; Lon [Lucius Alonzo] Sellers of Andalusia; J. O. [James Oron "Ode"] Sellers [married Jimmie Wilkes] of Greenville; Grady [Grady Wilson] Sellers [married Annie Chester Renfroe] of Montgomery; Walter [Walter Lee] Sellers [married Emma Chancellor] of Columbus, [Georgia] and Sam [Samuel Jackson] Sellers [married Lilla Mae Pittman] of Banks and many other relatives who mourn his death. He was preceded to the grave by his wife [Martha "Mattie" Rebecca Amos], September 2, 1929. The funeral services were conducted at 1:30 this afternoon by Elder B. J. Wilson of Glenwood. Interment took place at Oakwood Cemetery with Wood in charge of arrangements. The Masons had charge of the last sad rites at the grave. (Found in Troy Messenger newspaper in Pike County, AL on April 10, 1930) MRS. GEO. R. [L.] SELLERS (R. IS NOT CORRECT) Mrs. George R. [Lafayette] Sellers died at 3:55 o'clock this morning at her home on Orion Street after a long illness. She was 54 years of age on September 29, 1928. She is survived by her husband, George R. [Lafayette] Sellers; four children: Amos Sellers and Otis J. Sellers of Troy; Mrs. Fannie Lou Greathouse of Banks and Leon G. Sellers of Camden; two sisters: Mrs. Ida Williamson [Ida E. Amos married William Williamson] of Glenwood; Mrs. Ala Clarke [Ala Emeline Amos married James R. Clark] of Andalusia; one brother: J. B. Amos [James William Beverly Amos married Ida C. Riddle] of Troy and many other relatives who mourn her death. [Note: Parents were William Greenberry Amos and Luranie R. Wynne.] The funeral services will be conducted by Elder B. J. Wilson of Glenwood this afternoon at four o'clock at the family residence. Interment will take place in Oakwood Cemetery with Wood in charge. Active pallbearers: G. C. Turner, Ed Rolling, G. S. Bruce, Sam Williams, Bob Shirley and Oscar Jones. Honorary pall bearers: W. Senn, Clyde Whetstone, Clyde Somerset, Carl Somerset, John Hamil, H. O. Williams, H. E. Sanders, I. E.
