Yes the family did live in Hacoda for a time. I don't have confirmation on Martha Simmons' father, but it is speculated that it is Daniel Simmons born about 1793 in North Carolina. The 1850 Pike County, Alabama Census is as follows: Daniel Simmons, 54, farmer; Elizabeth, 53; William, 16; Austin, 14; Martha, 12; P. R. Gray, 24; John Barnes, 16; Eliza Barnes, 22. Next door to this family: John Simmons, 34, farmer; Abigail, 32; James, 11; Ellender, 9; Daniel, 6; Eliza, 4; Martha, 2. I believe John is one of Daniel's sons. I don't know anything about Levi Simmons. Melissa
