My great grandfather was 72 when my grandfather was born. My grandfather had nieces and nephews that were older than he was - this puts me, and my father before me in a generation where our cousins from this side of the family are 30 to 40 years older, so there is no reason that 1st cousins can't have a 30 year age difference. Yeah, me, too, Rusty, That was pretty common in the South where some folks got married rather young and had lots of children rather young. I was older than many of my father's cousins. My father's uncles were old and married very young women....Of course they had lots more children. My cousins called me uncle. uncle willie in California ----- Original Message ----- From: <RWNLK@aol.com> To: <alpike@rootsweb.com>; <LeBateman@att.net> Sent: Wednesday, February 28, 2007 9:26 PM Subject: Re: [ALPIKE] James Monroe McCRELLESS > My great grandfather was 72 when my grandfather was born. That happened in my family as well = my grandmother's grandfather was born in 1820. He remarried in 1869 and they had three children; the youngest was two years younger than my grandmother.
