Stephens (my gg-g'father) born in the area of Goshen in Mar 1852 as well as any relatives. He had siblings named George W. born about 1856, Joseph C. born Aug 1858 and Sarah J. born about 1861. Andrew J. does not appear in the 1860 Census of Pike County that I can find, but in the 1870 Census of Pike County he appears living next door to Joshua & Delila Stephens as well as Joseph H. Stephens. He is listed in the household of Nancy C. Stephens born in NC about 1833-34 (I would assume that his father may have been killed in the war since he is not listed). This is kind of confusing as well since I believe that Joshua and Delila had a daughter named Nancy if I am not mistaken (based on prior census records). Maybe one of their sons married a Nancy ??... I am not sure. Andrew J. was married to Elisabeth Massey (b. 1852 Pike Co) in approx 1875. They had 5 children: William Jackson Stephens, Mamie Stephens, Henry Hubert Stephens (my g-g'father), Charles S. Stephens and Lottie Stephens. According to the family information I have they were all born, lived and died in the Goshen area of Pike county or eastern Crenshaw county around the Fullers Crossroads/Live Oak area. Andrew J. supposedly died around 1905 in the Goshen area. Any info on this family would be greatly appreciated. Also, can anyone tell me who Andrew J. Stephens parents were or any additional information about any of the individuals I have listed here?? Thank you!! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
