I am researching the HENDRICKS families of southeast Alabama. I've found the census records in 1850 and 1860 on Allen R. HENDRICK and Elinor. I agree with your statement that she was the widow of George CARNLEY. There's lots of entries in the Orphan Court Minutes of Pike Co. about George's estate. He died intestate and Elinor applied for dower rights. I am trying to prove the parents of Josiah HENDRIX (1820-1864) of Henry Co., Al. The earliest that I've found Hendrix/Hendricks in Henry, Dale, & Barbour counties is 1830. I know a lot of them came to Alabama via Georgia.
