We have a Maria (Mary) STINSON b. 1833 AL married to our John L. RABORN b. 1821 SC. It has been a few years since I worked on our RABORN line and I do not have a source noted in my FTM file for the information, but we listed Maria's parents as Micajah B. and Sarah (unk.) STINSON. I will go back through my old folders to locate the source of my information, but do you know if your Malinda PUGH might have gone by the name Sara or if perhaps Micajah STINSON may have had a previous wife before Malinda? I would like to correct my file if need be. John L. RABORN served in the CSA, Co B 23rd AL Infantry and either died from wounds or was killed in action on 2 Dec 1863. He is buried in the Sardis Bapt. Church cemetery in Bullock (formerly Macon) Co. We did not locate a grave there for wife Maria. Evelyn Leslie Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. I must be thinking of Matthews Sellers did he marry Jane Ward, if so it is Matthew I am thinking of. I may have had him confused with Moses Matthews. I am looking for information on his Revolutionary War Service. Hi Sonny how are you doing. Did I tell you the late Mary Ligon Epps nee Solomon was my late mother's cousin. Mother passed away 8 Feb 2007. I believe Mary Ligon and Julian W. Epps Sr had only two children Rev. Julian Epps Jr. and Malinda Epps. Mary Ligon lived on 200 Main Street Headland. It may have been 201 Main Street. Headland, Alabama. Does anyone know if Lucy HICKMAN is also the mother of Claudius OATES. His brother was Joshua C. OATES. Josh was the son of Colonel William Calvin OATES and Lucy HICKMAN. I haven't located any marriage records for Colonel OATES and Lucy HICKMAN. Her parents were Daniel Edward HICKMAN and Sarah Ann V. DIED AT HOME WEDNESDAY Feb. 9 Charles Franklin Dodson, age 77, father of the editor of the paper, died at his home in Heflin at an early hour Wednesday morning. First news received stated that he probably suffered a heart attack and died in his bed. Mr. Dodson for a long number of years had been prominently identified in the weekly newspaper field, having owned and edited The Cleburne News for a number of years. Prior to his removal to Heflin he edited papers at Carrollton and Bremen, Ga. He was what might be called an editor of the old school, never bitter, never sarcastic but always pointed his writing toward the upbuilding of his community and the general welfare of the people. At the time of his death, Mr. Dodson was serving as Chairman of the Board of Registrars. He affiliated himself early in life with the M.E. Church and was a member of the Masonic fraternity and also the Woodmen of the World. He was born June 24, 1861 in Evergreen, Ala., a son of the late lamented John Peter Dodson and Elizabeth Gaines Dodson. Mrs. and Mrs. M. N. Dodson and daughter Elizabeth, and Mr. and Mrs. Philip Kingsley left immediately after the receipt of the sad news to attend the last rites. He was born in Evergreen, Ala., and came to Cleburne with his parents shortly after birth, when his father, John P. Dodson entered the Confederate Army.
