I am not related to the WICKER FAMILY, but have the following to share from a recent book I did on Autauga County: Died in PIKE COUNTY, Alabama, on Sunday, December 20, 1852, WILLIAM WICKER. The deceased was aged 106 years. He served as a soldier in the Revolutionary War... (Mar. 3, 1853 issue of The Autauga Citizen) Source: DEATH AND MARRIAGE NOTICES FROM AUTAUGA COUNTY, ALABAMA NEWSPAPERS (1853-1889), pg. 1
William"Will" Parker (b 1887 AL) was killed by Osborn in Pike Co AL on 21 Jan 1913. Parents of Will are Elbert C.(b 1855 AL) and Nancy Catherine (b 1858 AL) Parker. The 1910 Pike Co AL census shows E.C. Parker and wife Catherine and several children living next door to William Parker and his wife Annie in Tanyard. Close by lived John and Mattie Parker with several children. The 1900 Coffee Co AL census shows Elbert and Nancy C. and their children living in Simmons Mill. Looking for any additional info concerning these families.

Ref: William Henry Sanders being the father of Elizabeth Sanders b 1821. There are no records to confirm this Elizabeth being the daughter of William Henry Sanders. Maybe she was the daughter of Peterson Sanders who was on the 1850 Muscogee Co Ga Census. Hope we can solve this mystery. E-Mail foysand@digitex.net

OBITS OF SELLERS IN PIKE COUNTY, ALABAMA Date: 8/8/01 7:27:14 PM Eastern Daylight Time From: ronhead@knology.net (Ron Head) To: PGreatho01@aol.com Hi Pat-- You said: "one brother: J. B. Amos [James William Beverly Amos married Ida C. Riddle] of Troy" Actually, Uncle Jim AMOS's wife was Ida REVILL, not RIDDLE. I remember her well--went with my father to her 95th birthday party, at her daughter Emma Lou's house in Troy on 25 September 1971. As was her usual practice, Aunt Ida took my Dad off into a room by themselves and told him a dirty joke! Best regards-- Ron Head (Montgomery, AL)
My apologies to the Pike mailing list. The information posted here about my grandfather's aunt, Ida (REVILL) AMOS, was intended to be a personal e-mail to a relative, not a matter for public consumption. Sorry about that! Ron Head (Montgomery, AL)

I have just received information that one Sameul DuBose, son of Jeremiah DuBose, was buried in Oakwood Cemetery(1893), Pike County Alabama. I think Samuel and his family lived in the Jeremiah Dubose family home after the death of Jeremiah. It is posible that Jeremiah (died 1839) and his wife, Rebecca (died 1844) might have been buried in same cemetery. Does anyone know where this cemetery is and if there is a list of people interred there? Any help would be appreciated.

I have Blackburn; Pugh; Stinson in my genealogy. I am descended from Adeline Pugh and Stephen Blackburn.
Hi Sherry, I know that this may sound a littlr crazy, but could Drew King and Henderson Douglas be the same man? Both born the same year and same children, same wife's first name? The reason I am thinking this is because my husbands grandmother was Eula May Douglas. She married Henry Daughtry. Eula May was one of William H. Douglas' children. Anyway to make a long story short, its been told in our family that Henderson Douglas and his Wife Catherine came to Suawannee County, Fl from Alabama because he killed a man [in self defense?] . He changed his name to Douglas after coming to Fl. We have been told that his former name may have been King. This seems to fit. I am getting this information from on of William H.'s granddaughters. Her name if May McColough, and she lives in Reddick, Fl. Please contact me if you think this may have dome truth to it. Thank you, Amy Daughtry
I recommend that you look at Terrence Mills' websites: <http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=mills> <http://www.gencircles.com/users/millstr1/2> Terrence has done a good job of assembling information about the Pike County Mills family descended from Andrew and Nancy Mills.
I have some ties to the Lecroy name probably in Pike county Al. Are you familiar at all with these names:Sarah Lecroy 1859-1942, Missouri Lecroy 1852-1938 "wife of Jordan Lindsey", Lula Lecroy McQuagge Shumaker 1879-1958 "wife of Malcolm Carroll McQuagge". Regards Sam <smcquaggjr@aol.com>
Isaac Kirksey (1796) was my gg grandfather. He came to Pike County from South Carolina in the early 1830s and he and his wife Elizabeth and several children are listed in the 1850 Pike County census. We believe his wife was Elizabeth Herring. One of his sons, Jacob Irvin (1836), was my g grandfather. I think his parents were Edward Kirksey (c. 1770) and Wineford Youngblood (c. 1770), but I do not have proof. I would appreciate receiving any information that might help me learn more about the parents of the Pike County Isaac Kirksey (1796). Elbert J.
