    1. Margaret Franklin-Robert Franklin and Samuel J. Hopper
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/QU.2ADI/3881 Message Board Post: I am seeking information on Margaret Franklin who purchased land in “tenancy in common” with Samuel J. Hopper. She bought 132 acres of land from the federal government in what is now Dallas , and another 132 acres in what is now Crenshaw counties in Alabama. According to the Bureau of Land management site she lists her residence as Butler County Alabama . The date of the land patent according to the Bureau of Land management was 8 / 1/ 1831, Both of these properties were listed as preemptions which means that either Margaret or Samuel, or both of them were living on the land prior to purchase. Samuel J. Hopper was on the 1830 Pike County Alabama census living next door to Robert Franklin who also bought land on the same day. His was also a preemption. Who were these people? Does anyone have any information. Regarding their relationship and kinship. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Belinda Jacks

    1. Sonny Joiner
    2. Le Bateman
    3. Can someone tell me if Sonny Joiner has a new email address? The one I have does not work. Can someone also tell me if the town of Saco still exists. And how many miles is it from Catalpa. Does anyone know if any of William OATES and Sarah SELLERS children's descendants still live in Pike County. I know that Amanda and her husband George Linton. settled in Hamilton Texas. Amelia and her husband were in Louisiana in 1860 they later also settled in Texas, Polk County Texas. John never married he died in the War Between the States. I am not certain what happened to Malissa Ann after she married Mr. Hickman. She is supposed to be buried in Headland, Alabama. Her father disinherited her. Governor Oates took care of her provided she lived right. James Wyatt Oates died in 1915 , in San Francisco. He is buried in Abbeville Alabama. Le
