However there is also an ethical issue, and coping and publishing entire pages of published material is not what I consider to be very ethical considering the Society has not given permission for it to be reprinted. In fact there has been complaints. Sharing one or two names on a list is not the same thing as copying their entire works. There is nothing to stop individuals from getting those rosters for themselves and sharing them.

My gg-gfather Evan M. Floyd and his brother Timothy Green Floyd both were in Co. H., 18th Alabama Infantry Regiment Volumteers. They were from the Antioch Community near Troy, Alabama. Evan died at end of war, never returned home. Timothy G. Lee this is only the men from Pike and may not be all of them. This list was gathered from various sources for the erection of the statue that is downtown Troy and is in honor of the men from old Pike who fought. As you will note it is the info from the historical Societies bulletin and they have the manuscript rights and copyrights to distribute this work. Whoever the person is who is freely distributing this work should have answered you since they are taking it directly from the bulleting and this is explained in the front of the book. Susie I was referring to the family diary which Suzanne was discussing, if she posted it, it would be her own copyright and her own choice to share, as a family item, she holds the copyright if there is one.
