He was 60-70 years old with a female (30-40) in his household. The female is believed to be Elizabeth DAVIS. Living next door was Hannah and Hetty BILLIONS who may be relatives. Elizabeth Davis was listed in the 1850 Pickens Co. AL census living with John and Hettie Carlisle.
I haven't been able to find any Davis's of these names in books I have except this entry for a George Davis from the Huntsville Democrat: September 30, 1846 "Died at his residence in this county on the 13th, George Davis in his 83rd year. Had long been afflicted with a painful disease--rheumatism. Member of the church for 50 years. For last 35 years a consistent member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. The Huntsville Democrat, Banner of Peace at Lebanon, Tenn. and the prints at Greenville and Jonesboro, Tenn. copy. (From Athens Chronicle--Limestone Co.) Looks like he lived in Limestone. Age is right for the George in Pickens 1830, but this is a common name. Could not locate any Billions. Similar names in Pickens were Billups, Billingsley, and Binion. Perhaps the census taker misspelled the name?
