Information I have says it is in either Pickens Co. AL or Lowndes Co. MS, but I'd like to know for certain. My ancestors, Stephen McReynolds and Jane Hilliard McReynolds are supposedly buried there, along with a number of their children, but the cemetery listings haven't been posted on RootsWeb as yet. GNIS indicates a location on the Pickens AL / Lowndes MS line, but nothing is indicated on the topo map.
The Alabama State Highway map shows the location of Tabernacle Church and Cemetery as being approximately 1/4 mile on a side road to the south off Pickens County Road # 74. The side road is about 1/2 mile from the state line and Lowndes County. The "Pickens County Cemetery Records Book" does list a Stephen and a Jane McReynolds as well as 9 other McReynolds. McReynolds, Rev. Stephen 8/14/1778 3/27/1851 minister for 32 yrs. McReynolds, Jane 2/15/1786 12/15/1862 Please email me if more information is needed.
