I'm considering purchasing the book, PICKENS COUNTY, ALABAMA 1841-1861 by Marilyn D Barefield and C. Barefield. Is this a good source of Pickens County information and is it worth my investment? I have lots of ancestors living in northern Pickens County during this period. Are there any other good reference books for Pickens County that anyone could suggest? Thanks you.
