The Jordan sisters were my grandfather's grandmothers. Cecelia on the Beam side and Sarah on the Strickland. We had suspected that Julia that married John J. Strickland was also a sister to Cecelia and Sarah. Would you happen to know the parents of these 3 sisters? We found Sarah, Cecelia and brother William living in the household of a Thomas Carroll on the 1850 Pickens County Census. We also believe, but have been unable to confirm, that their mother's maiden name was Mary Carroll. We also suspect that her name was Mary because Sarah and Abel T. Strickland named their daughter Mary Alice. Sorry that we do not have any information on the children of John J. Strickland. Happy hunting and we will share any news we find. Please do the same.
