He did show up in 1850 Pickens County as S.T. Savage (32) born in SC with wife, Cathorine (27) born in SC One Son Abner (6) & one Daughter, Melipa (sp) (3) It will be very hard to locate them in the 1840 SC Census, as others before list only the Head of the Household & number/age/sex of the Children. I done a quick Check and there is 15 Savage's listed in the 1840 SC Census. 10 are Widows & 5 Men..... Richard, Anthony, James, William & Zebulon. It will be tough to locate S T's Parents. Your Quest caught my attention because in 1860 Gordo my G,GF Jason Harper and family was there and there is a good chance that he sat in your man's Church Good Luck Ray Harper
