B. 1858/1859 in Alabama . In the 1860 census, I've found a James and Mary Hammonds with Children; John, James, Francis, and Martha in Southern Division Pickens County. I have undocumented references to James and Mary's death in close proximity in approximately 1869 with the children distributed to friends and relatives. I have been unable to locate any of the Children in the 1870 or 1880 census. From 1900 Census, Martha was married in ~1888 to James Perry Rushing (b 1860 Fayette Cty AL) and moved to Indian Territory ~1892. Martha dies in 1902. Any information on the James and Mary Hammonds or the distribution of Children greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone, I have requested and received a new web site to accompany this list. It will be a Most Wanted site for our ancestors. http://www.rootsweb.com/~alnwmw/index.html I have it ready to load your information. I need for those of you who want your "Most Wanted" ancestors posted, please send the names and a brief paragraph about them, with dates of birth, places of birth and location as to where they lived...as much information as you can to help others to help you. If need be, I reserve the right to edit the queries if they are too long, leaving the important data, of course. Please include your email address and name in the query so I don't have to look it up. That gets time consuming. Please do not send this information to the list but to palliott@quik.com Remember, the more exposure our ancestor's names and information gets, the better chance we have of learning more about them. Thank you, Sue Palmer~Elliott NW-Alabama List Administrator

I think one of the brothers went to either Montgomery County, MS or in that neighborhood. They would be descendants of Millington Blaylock. And they assure me that my Henry is not from their family. Wish I could be that sure of everything. I was in Tishomingo about 3 weeks ago to attend a UDC meeting. Small world. (However, I did not realize the name/county changes) Do you have names of other siblings of Anderson? I would like to hear anything you have about Anderson because I have never, ever run across that given name in the Blalock family.......so it excites me with hope. Please write. Thanks so much. My question is do you have access to a history book about Pickens Co.? One with family histories? Tradition has it that 3 brothers lived there (in Pickens Co.) a while, then crossed the river at Columbus and supposedly went their separate ways. (If one can half way believe family tradition). My brick wall is Henry Eldridge Blaylock/Blailock, b. 1797, NC, married Eliza Currie 1834, eventually settled in Thomastown, MS (central Miss.). I am looking for Henry's parents. Thanks, Lucy

Does anyone know if the Pickens Co website is going to be updated anytime in this century? It hasn't changed in almost 2 years now. I realize it takes time being under construction but surely something would have been added or changed by now?? Teresa
