Following was my response to the original message: Do you happen to know what the "M" stands for? My SIMS ancestors lived in Perry County, AL. I have found them difficult to research, so the records of the family came from others who had "bits and pieces" that we put together. My 3g-grandfather was Greene Sims (1770-1831), born in Virginia and died in Greene County, AL. I have a list of eight children - 5 boys, 3 girls. I have some scant information on some of the boys. I have one listed as Miles Sims - but no further information. Most of them migated elsewhere. Some landed in Greene County, AL; others, including my 2g-grandmother, went on to Mississippi between 1858-60. They are recorded in Oktibbeha and Choctaw Counties. She lived with a daughter in Webster County in 1880. This could provide some clues for you to persue. Larry
