I, too, am curious about this Griffin settlement. My GG grandmother was Martha Griffin b. 1828 in AL. I do not know death date or parents names. She m. Thomas Wherry who died in 1851 and married Samuel Sanders Tubb 5 Sep 1853 in Perry Co., AL. Samuel Tubb was my GG grandfather. Does anyone know if Martha was a part of this Griffin family? Thanks in advance for anything. I am at a real brick wall with her. Faye Adkins

Hi, Sharon, I'm not real sure what race she was but family lore always said my grandmother was part Indian. I have now gotten information that the Indian came from her mother's side and that her mother was half Indian. If that is true, I would guess that Martha was Indian. I also have a picture of her from "The Heritage of Perry Co." and she certainly appears to be Indian. Do you have anything at all on her? I have quite a bit of info on the Tubb & Tucker families but nothing on her.
