Joseph Sanders' Descendants Joseph Sanders was born 31 August 1812 in South Carolina, first married 02 December 1834 in Perry County, Alabama to Eleanor Williams, and he died 7 October 1903 and buried at Medline Cemetery in Perry Co., Alabama. The second wife's name was Mary Fowler Baker who he married on 12 January 1879; she had 2 children from the former Baker marriage. Joe and Mary had one daughter, Eleanor Parinet b.20 October 1871 and married Dave Rodgers in Perry Co, Alabama. Children issued to him and first wife Eleanor Williams b. 15 March 1815 died 28 August 1865. May have been buried a Medline Cemetery. 1.. Mary Elizabeth Sanders b. 29 September 1835 Perry Co, Alabama, married James Ervin on 7 September 1856, and then married Ben Sims after first husband died. 2.. Thomas Alexander Sanders b. 26 June 1837, married Sarah Marie Lovelady on 14 December 1865, died 30 September in Perry Co, Al. 3.. Margaret Louise Sanders b. 27 June 1839, married David E. Lovelady on 4 February 1861, then Fernando Gay 14 November 1869 4.. John Danforth Sanders b. 23 September 1841, died 27 June 1862 in Virginia during the Civil War, (I have a copy of this record from the Alabama) 5.. Joseph Sanders Jr.b.28 December 1843 died 15 February 1857. 6.. Benjamin Sanders b. 28 December 1843, married Mary E. Lovelady b. 15 February 1866, died 1866 in Perry Co, Alabama. 7.. George Washington Sanders b. 5 June 1846, married Martha A.? 8.. Rebecca Ann Sanders b. 23 February 1848 William D. Hopkins 12 March 1865, died September 2, 1906. Both are buried in Medline Cemetery, Al. Wm. Hopkins parents were John Allen Hopkins and Peninah Hay who are buried in the Mount Olive Cememtery in north Alabama. 9.. Hiram Newton Sanders b. 2 April 1850, married Susan Gay 22 December 1865. 10.. William Jefferson Sanders b.23 November 1854, married Mary Alabama Holly 28 September 1879, died January 19, 1915. (Information of the Sanders line was researched/obtained by Dr. Ed Ruddick, Judy Davis, and Linda Davis) Descendants of Benjamin Williams Benjamin Williams b. 1784 North Carolina, died after 1860 living Perry Co, Alabama, married Elsie Lee born before 1797 and she died before 1830. 1.. Richard Williams b. 15 August 1797 in NC, died 24 September 1881 in Dallas County, Alabama, married Zalerda Johnson b. abt 1815 according to age on wedding certificate, died without any known children before 07 March 1838 as Richard remarried to Jane Harris on that date and had 8 children. 2.. Beady Taylor Williams b. 23 May 1809 in NC died 28 March 1882 in Dubach, Lincoln Parrish, La., married John Green 15 November 1828, and had 10 children. The left back corner of the Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery in Dubach, LA is where most of this line is buried. 3.. Anna Williams b. 1811 in NC, married Malachi Green born about 1808 in NC, lived in Mississippi, and had 8 children. 4.. Eleanor Williams, who married Joe Sanders, my direct line. 5.. Jamina Minerva Williams b 24 April 1816 in NC, died 26 February 1877 in Dallas County, Al., married Leroy Friday and had 12 children. 6.. Mahala Eleanor Williams b. 1822 in NC, died after 1860 in Perry Co, Al, married George Reid on 03 October 1835, had 3 children, remarried at George's death to John Friday and had 8 children. 7.. Isaac Williams born about 1822 and died after 1860 in Perry Co, Alabama 8.. Sylvia Little Williams b. 1825 in Perry County, Alabama died before 1860 in Perry Co., Al married William Price 19 December 1844 had 2 sons and 2 daughters. Two of her children were taken back to Alabama and the other two stayed in LA. They were raised by her sisters. Hello - enjoy reading all the posts on the Perry County Boards - have a question?? My relative is Henry Lee, b 1779 in Edgecombe County, NC - his father was one Stephen Lee , b abt 1755 same location - do not have the mother's name at all I am wonderding if this Stephen Lee COULD be the same one mentioned in the post - my Lee family came from NC to Wilkes County GA and then to Scott County Miss and ended up in North Louisiana - My interest in the Perry County site is through another different line (White/Foster) - just interested in this as well - any help would be appreciated!
