    3. I found interesting Judson College material several years ago while researching my Leverett ancestor who family tradition states was instrumental in the founding of Judson. This tradition has not been proved, I would, however, like to share the gathered research information. Judson College was established in 1838 in Marion, Perry Co., AL[1]. The Marion Female Seminary (first name of Judson), Howard College and Judson College have all had fires with record losses.[2] Some of the available Judson College catalogs, books and other surviving documents written about Judson located in the college archives were searched.[3] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1]Manley, Louise, History of Judson College 1838-1913, (Foote & Davies Company, Atlanta, GA: date N/A): 7.
