Vinson's committed suicide in 1840 two weeks after his wife was found murdered in their home. We found this out by reading an old 1840 Marion, Alabama newspaper article. William Sanders, Vinson's father, was a brother to the Vincent/Vinson Sanders of Franklin County, North Carolina. Some of Vincent's children (as a matter of fact many of them) made it to Perry County, AL. Sons: William N., Sherrod W., Layton, Alfred (for a little while) and maybe others. You know Alfred eventually went on to Texas. Layton actually went to Noxubee county for about 20 years then returned to Perry county. Then, after Layon died in 1866 in Perry county, his wife, Rachel, returned to Noxubee county and passed away there some time after 1885. Interestingly, Layton and Rachel had a daughter named Rachel Thursday Sanders. Note, Layton had a sister named Thursday. I'm look you: I still don't know for sure who Vinson/Vincent's and William's parents are but it still looks like it points to that William Sanders who died about 1812 in Pendleton District. Yet, still, Nannette is also right, too, because we are connected with those bunch of Sanders' that came out of Virginia (Thomas Sanders, Edward Sanders, Ebenezer Sanders, etc.). Just where is the connection for sure I don't know. We'll keep looking. Maybe we'll find an answer one day. Todd
