John Fisher bought 40.1 acres in the Brush Creek community (6E 21N section 1 aliquot NENW) in 1835. Then, I find them in the 1840 and 1850 census. I estimate that John was born in 1795 and Nancy in 1798. Both state they were born in GA. In the 1850 census there is a 34 year old female Fisher living with them, born in TN, and several males that were born in AL. I searched early marriages in GA, TN, and AL and the only marriage that fit these facts was John Fisher married Nancy Hopkins in Marengo Co. 30 Sept 1818. Of course, a 34 year old female in 1850 would have been born before this marriage, but I am not convinced that this was their daughter, could have been a relative of some sort, even John Fisher's younger sister. Also, in 1860 I find a T. W. (probably Thomas) Fisher living in the Brush creek community, very close to the location where John Fisher lived. I also find several Fisher marriages in early Perry Co., notable for me Thomas Barnett and Susanna Fisher, 12-Feb-1823 and James Barnett and Betsy Fisher, 24-Jun-1820. I am working on this line because of where the Fisher's lived. My ancestor, Levi Barnett lived in the Brush Creek Community. As close as I can figure his home was in the township described as 6E 21N section 1 aliquot NENW or NWNE. I suspect that Levi's mother's name was Frances and he had at least one brother, Stephen Thomas Barnett (born in GA. died during Civil War, buried at Old Salem) and possibly a sister, Delaney. Both parents were born in GA. I think that Levi's parents came to AL after 1821 and before 1835, and that his father died before 1850, but I cannot figure out who the parents were. It could be that the Fisher's and Barnett's were just neighbors that intermarried, or maybe there was more of a connection. That's what I'm trying to figure out in hopes that it leads me to the parents of Levi Barnett. Do you have any connections here?
