    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/JU.2ADI/854 Message Board Post: Melissa. These Fishers are mine. John and Nancy did marry in Marengo Co. 1818. I have printed your note and will do some checking with a lady I know that has lots of info on Perry County folks. I know that two Fisher ladies married into the Barnett family and I think they were sisters of our John. We believe John may have come to Ala from Bedford Co. Tn. Nancy's father, John Hopkins died there in 1813 from wounds suffered in the war of 1812. Elizabeth Hopkins received land in Ala due to his being in service with Andrew Jackson. Where John and Nancy met is still a mystery. I have a copy of the church minutes that Nancy's Grandmother was a founding member of in Oconee Co. Ga in 1799. I will check it for Barnetts. Many times these folks moved in groups. Needed to when they were moving into indian teritorry. Ala was not a state at the time John and Nancy married. Please lets keep in touch. Betty Fisher Prim

    3. Did your Fisher's stay in Perry Co.? My branch of the Barnett's stayed in Perry Co., at least for the most part. My mom and her sister and all their offspring (including me) no longer live there, but much of the family is still there, or in Hale Co. Please let me know what you find when you get a chance to check those other sources. I am pulling my hair out with this branch and running out of things to try to get this figured out.
