Zion Methodist Church was founded in 1822 northwest of Marion with graves as early as 1830. For Methodist information, try the book, Some Early Alabama Churches, by Mabel Ponder Wilson and also the book, History of Methodism in Alabama and West Florida, by Marion Lazenby. Both list many names. The History was compiled from notes of every annual conference. You can track the church assignments of ministers. Often, there are announcements of deaths of ministers and spouses. I found both of these books at my local libraries.
