Jim: I checked my SMITH data base and could not locate your Bryant. There are several men named Thomas. I went to the census record and noticed that Bryant was born in North Carolina. My Smith family was in South Carolina before settling in Perry County, AL around 1830. Many of them stayed in Alabama, but my line (Mathew & Bethenia Smith) migrated to Mississippi around 1858, and many of them stayed in that area. My great-grandfather (John Frederick Smith) migrated to Texas circa 1894. Larry
