I was not careful in my original e-mail. In rechecking my notes, this is how I should have written it. I was too hasty the first time I sent it. Here is what is in the court record: Perhaps someone who lives in the area could go over to Marion and see if there is anything I missed. My visit to the courthouse was brief. I wish I had made a photocopy of the record now. This going by the names in the will would be, Patsy=Martha, Jemima and Lydia are the same; Elizabeth = Elsey and Looisy = Vicey; this leaves Nelly{Eleanor?} to be the wife of Benjamin Williams. {copy of letter from Barbara Owens} ***** however going by the info you found, Elizabeth would not be Elsey as Elsay is consistently listed alone, her husband must have died before 1823, bet he was related to Benjamin, perhaps a brother? As Lee Green's letter mentioned a dau. named Nelly and that is a nickname for Eleanor {name of Benjamin William's dau} I had thought Nelly would be Benjamin's wife. Now I can't even say that Benjamin's wife was "Eleanor/Nelly Elizabeth" as the letter lists both an Elizabeth and a Nelly. Wonder how this resolves itself?? One thing for sure, we have to go with documented evidence. Judy
