First wife unknown. Married second to Nancy Brantley in Greene Co. His children were as follows: 1. Greenberry W. W. Mitchell, b. ca. 1801, m. Cynthia Melinda Posey Winn, daughter of Abner Winn and Lucretia Posey. 2. Bethenia Lane Mitchell, b. 1807, m. Elisha Floyd Tubb of Perry. 3. Cimantha Margaret L. Mitchell, b. 1809, m. James R. Winn. She is buried in the Mount Hermon UMC Cemetery. 4. Sarah W. Mitchell, b. ca 1815, m. Thomas Allen. She & Thomas appeared on the 1860 Perry census, but I cannot locate her after that. 5. William H. Mitchell, no birth data nor marriage data. 6. Mary C. Mitchell, b. ca 1821, m. Isaac Wheeler. Believed she d. in Greene Co. between 1857-1860. 7. James M. Mitchell, b. between 1823-1828. Living with sister Cimantha Margaret Winn in the 1870 Hale Co. census, but then I cannot find him. 8. Martha M. Mitchell, b. 1832, m. John A. Jones. She is buried in Mt. Hermon UMC with two children. All of these children were born in GA except the youngest, Martha, who was born in AL. There is a William Mitchell m. Martha Jones living in Perry/Hale and in Lee Co., MS in 1880. Does anyone have information on this family? Any help greatly appreciated! Catherine
