    3. No; I was told by a lister from Montgomery list that "The Alabama Baptist" was actually a newspaper which is still printed today. His great-great grandfather, another prominent Baptist, had his obituary printed in it. That sounds like a 'third party' type reference to himself, which was used by persons who were often in the spotlight, to avoid saying the 'dreaded' 'me' or 'my' words. Somewhat more formal, but not too 'far out'. Hope that helps. Regards. 3. Pat, The Alabama Baptist was a newspaper. It was originated in Marion, Perry County, Alabama in the early 1800's, probably around 1825. I don't know if it is still published or not, but the old building where it was published is an historical site in Marion, and is located on the street that leads in to the main entrance to Judson University. I have copied several of the old newspapers from the 1850's & 1860's and one from 1885 from the library at Samford University in Birmingham. BTW, my great great grandfather was a Baptist minister also. His name was Noah Haggard. Have a Happy!! Lloyd Heard, List Administrator.
