    1. Re: [ALPERRY] Assistance at the local level
    2. Hi Melissa I was re-reading your message and I am not sure that I responded to each item.. as to my digging in Perry County - the families I am interested in are Owen primarily and Wegar/Weger/Wiger/Wieger/Wiggen, etc. I know that two females (sisters) married two Owen men...I would like to prove they were brothers, and then I would like to find proof of their parentage. I have found John Owen marrying Lucinda Weger, Samuel Owen marrying Cynthe(Cynthia?) Weiger and I think both were daughters of David Weiger/Weger. Lucinda marries in 1846, so she is not named on the census with her family in 1850, but she fits in the females in his household. Cynthia is in Davids HH in 1850. Then I would like to find a relationship between Knave/Nave, (perhaps a Thomas) and the Owen or Weger famiiles. The 1860/1870/1880 census divisions are not the same so there is no way to easily search them page by page to see if these people stay in the same place. I have not been able to find Samuel Owen and Cynthia in 1870. I do in 1860 and a possibility in 1880 in Arkansas. Lucinda who married John was there in Perry Co in 1850, 1860 and I am pretty sure John died during the war. I find her still there in 1880 and she is buried there, but can't locate any of these people in 1870 in Perry Co...but there sure are a lot of black Owen(s). I am wondering if these people had a lot of slaves that were freed there? I am thinking they may have missed a big section of Perry Co and these Owen families may have been close together. I have just located a possibility for Cynthia Owen as head of HH in Tuscaloose in 1870 - the age fits, one daughter Mary fits...but no one else in HH. Her husband missing and also two kids...so don't know if coincidence or they were elsewhere. So, if you might have knowledge of any of these names let me know...only sending this cause you asked...I really don't expect you to do anything with it... Alice in Fluvanna
