My Jesse Campbell was born in SC about 1820 and married a Rebecca McMakin in 1846. They removed to Gordon Co. GA about 1850 and then went further west to Perry Co. AL by 1860. As far as I know, Jesse only married once. In 1865 he came to Houston Co. TX where he resided until he died in 1879. Interestingly, back in SC there is a Jesse Campbell, a.k.a. Jesse Couch. I have never been able to determine why this individual had two last names. Is your Couch name related to the Campbell name as well.? Tell me more about your Jesse Campbell, i.e. where was he born, etc. My Jesse apparently had a middle name that began with a "C" but we do not know what the letter stands for.
