This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/JU.2ADI/637.2 Message Board Post: I have found Springhill Cemetery. I am trying to locate the Tadlock Cemetery and came across an extraction of the Springhill Cemetery on the Colburn Family Web site. It was only four names, all Colburns but included coordinates (324227N 0872223W). I checked GNIS. There is no listing for a Springhill Cemetery but the coordinates match those of a Springhill Church near Curbville. There are maps showing the church and Curbville at http://alabamamaps.ua.edu/historicalmaps/counties/perry.html. Curbville is located northwest of Marion about halfway between Folsom and Sprott. I had never heard of Curbville which does not even have a zip code but the coordinates and maps should give you a good chance to find Springhill Cemetery. According to some of the maps there is a second cemetery near Curbville but the name is not shown.
There is also a Springhill Church and Cemetery that is located in extreme NE corner of Hale County. If you look at the Perry County Highway Map referenced here, it would be located just above the Lake Payne and Waycross Churches shown in the NW corner of Perry County where it joins Hale County. The church and cemetery is approximately a mile or so above the county line. Keep in mind this part of Hale County was in Perry County until 1867 when Hale County was formed.
