Melissa: Thanks so much for your reply - I do not know if it ties in with my info or not - It is possible that this is the same family - but I do not have anything earlier than this: Stephen Lee b abt 1755 Edgecombe County, NC (don't know spouse) His son: Henry Lee b 1779 Edgecombe County, NC died 1860 Stewart County, GA married Letitia Bryan abt 1797 in Wilkes County, GA she was born abt 1779 in NC and died 1867 in Stewart County, GA their children: Jordan William Lee b 1802 NC Henry Bryan Lee b 1806 Edgecombe County, NC * my line As I said, this family then moves to Mississippi and North Louisiana - I have much data after these children (Jordan and Henry) and the locations - just not any before - does this look like the same family?? Didn't know about Richard or Solomon - would love to tie this family to that one - let me know if I am on the right track - will share all the info I have and would love to see a tree or more early data Thanks Cynthia Murray ----- Original Message ----- From: "Melissa LaTour" <melissalatour@perigee.net> To: <ALPERRY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, March 21, 2004 2:28 PM Subject: RE: [ALPERRY] Re: LEE/Green > It's possible that they are the same family of Lee's. It's possible that they are the same family of Lee's. The Lee's discussed here are descendants of Richard Lee, born in Edgecombe Co., NC. He married Martha Little, probably in Anson Co., NC and raised several children there. Came to Alabama in the last years of his life with his son Solomon Lee (and probably others of his family). His will was one of the first probabted in Perry Co. (1823). I have that Richard Lee's father was Solomon Lee, b. 1713 and d. 1762 in Edgecombe Co., NC. Does any of this tie in with your info? Melissa, A couple of Sims are connected to my Stewart family. Can you tell me who the parents of William Henry Sims were? Any information is deeply appreciated. Ira L. Harris III Evansville, Indiana
Hi Faye, Do you (or anyone else on the list) know anything about Carter Tubb? He was born in TN according to the census. Married Pauline Jaggers in Perry Co., AL in 1840 and was the father of Nancy Tubb, my gg grandmother, and 12 others (2 were from his second wife, Cyeena Sims). Carter Tubb is buried at Sardis in Perry Co., his daughter Nancy was born in Perry Co., lived in N. Perry and is buried at Pleasant Valley in Hale Co with her husband William Henry Sims. Faye, There is a George M. Tubb son of R and N Tubb on the list of burials at Hopewell Cemetery. He died 30 Oct 1837 age 3 years, 2 months. This agrees with the birth date you have. If you haven't done so, I suggest you go to the site I mentioned in my last email. There are several Tubbs buried at Hopewell. There is a surname index at this site which shows there are Tubbs buried at other cemeteries in Perry Co. John
Faye, All the info I have on the Tubb side came from my daughter who found it at Ancestry.com a couple of years ago. It appears that we are talking about the same Richard and Nancy Tubb. Richard Tubb b. 22 June 1799 (you had 21 June) in Pendleton District, SC, d. 1 Sep 1842. Nancy Underwood b. 28 Sep 1804, place unk, d. 14 Apr 1858 in Perry Co. Ala. Both are buried in the cemetery at Hopewell Baptist Church in Perry Co. Ala. This is for sure. There is a list of those buried there as well as many other Perry Co. cemeteries at. http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Hills/9365/index.html Their children are: 1. Mary Elizabeth b. 25 Nov 1825, d. 29 June 1876 buried at Hopewell. 2. John Elisha 3. Anne 4. Lenore 5. Susan Martha Richard's parents were: George Tubb Jr. b. 1765 in Rutherford Co. NC, d. 11 Nov 1833 in Perry Co, Ala. Elizabeth Jane Floyd b. 1768 Pendleton Dist. SC, d. 31 July 1851 in Noxubee Co. Miss. Elizabeth Floyd's father was William Floyd b. NC d. 4 Feb 1821 in Franklin Co. Tenn. George Tubb Jr's parents were: George Tubb Sr. b. 1727 in NC, d. 1803 in Pendleton Dist. SC Mary b. 1730 NC, d. 1802 in Pendleton Dist. SC Does any of this agree with your data? John
Hi, John, I am a direct descendant of the Tubb family of Perry Co. My g grandmother was "a" Mary Elizabeth Tubb although not the one you are seeking. I do have a Richard Tubb, Jr. b 21 Jun 1799 in Pendleton Dist., SC m to Nancy Underwood 12 Apr 1821 in Perry Co. This Richard is my 1st cousin 6 times removed. The only child I have for them in my database is George M. Tubb b 30 Aug 1834. I'm sure there were others. I have a good bit of information on many of the Tubb folks that I will be more than happy to share if you would like. Faye Adkins
Recently I saw a posting on this list regarding the Tubb family in Perry Co. My GGrandfather's brother, Thomas B. Driver, married Mary Elizabeth Tubb on 7 Jan 1847 in Perry Co. I think her parents were Richard and Nancy Tubb but am not sure. Does this connect with anyone's Tubb family? Thanks, John
You do not have to reply, as I receive a copy of my own email from the lists I am on.
