It was probably the person whose message I was forwarding to the ALPerry list that has the connection. I believe his name was Butch. You should be able to get his email address from within the original message forwarded to the board. Roy

I actually live in Louisiana and do 1850/1860 census lookups only from a couple of transcriptions that I have. I have been there two separate times. I have ancestors that were buried there in the 1850s to 1890s. The rest of the family migrated to North Louisiana in the 1860s and 1870s. Perhaps someone on the list is familiar with the area and can tell you. Roy

Samantha Adkins (1880-1912) married a man named P.O. Curl. Samantha is buried in the Zion Cemetery in Marion, AL. I would like to find out more about this family---children, names of both of their parents, etc. The Curl family also intermarried with the Vaiden family that lived in Marion. Any clues will be much appreciated. Leslie Hill

There was a query about Handy & Luiza Perry who settled in AL in the 1860's. Handy & Luiza were suppoed to have settled around Roxboro or Sugar Hill/Sugar Bottom... I am also researching my GGG whose last name is Perry. I am wondering if Handy and Luiza owned any slaves or had a farm?? I know there is a Sugar Hill plantation in Thomaston East. Also many Perrys do have Cherokee heritage..Perry County used to be home to many Cherokees. My family also has Cherokee heritage. Good luck searching! Lynn

Hi! I have John White Suttles married to my Rebecca Jane Smith m. date November 23, 1843. Glad to share info. Mary
James, To the best of my memory, William Suttle didn't have Rev. War records. The info to that service was in census records? and obit records. Birmingham, Ala. has the Rev. War records on microfilm, it is just remembering it when I go back. There is a book out by Virgil White that has Rev. War records abstracted, Birmingham has that too. Don't know what library is near you to know if they have these references. Judy

From you list she is the first child of Ann and Ebenezer VARNELL. Amanda E.B. Varnell. She married William Tarply Radford in Perry County Alabama. Amanda is buried at Old Zion Cemetery near Donie, Freestone, Texas. We think Ann Suttle Varnell is buried here also, possibly in an unmarked grave. She came to Texas with here son Ransom and is listed on the 1860 census living with him. They missed that area in the 1870 census and by the 1880 census we cannot find her. So her death date is uncertain, so far. I have been in contact with Judy Davis in the past and need to talk with her again. She had said she had info on the White family, but at that time I wasn't looking for that, now I wish I had it. I have quite abit on the Suttle line too. What I am needing is William Suttle Rev. War records. It is so expensive to order from the Nat'l Archives now days. I was hoping some had a copy to share. James
