Wm died here in 1879 and in 1880 Lucinda was living with son Thomas Levert Stringfellow. Lucinda had an older son, Howard Chandler Strngfellow and at least one daughter, Annie. Can you help me? Will certainly share what little I have and hope to have. Gwen Sealy
One of the earliest settlers in Perry County, AL, was John Johnson, who, along with David Durden, helped to form the town of Marion. The Durdens were from Tennessee, possibly this John Johnson was also. These Durdens and Johnsons may have been related. David Durden's mother was Sarah Bobbitt, wife of James Dearden. Sarah was the sister of Charity Bobbitt, who married Benjamin Johnson. The Bobbitt family appears to have been associated with our Johnson family as evidenced by the fact that my gggf Jeremiah Johnson's son-in-law John W. Mooney is buried in the Bobbitt Cemetery in Houston County, Texas, as are several others in the Mooney family. Two of John W. Mooney's sisters Mary and Martha marry Bobbitts, William Henry and James Jefferson respectively, who descend from this same Bobbitt ancestry. A large segment of the Durden, Bobbitt, and Mooney families eventually migrate from SW AL and Lauderdale Co, MS area to the same counties in East Texas as our Johnsons - Houston, Anderson, Trinity, Cherokee, Henderson, possibly others. Would love to correspond with any of the Jeremiah F. Johnson or John W. Mooney descendants. Researching my father's JOHNSON line, WILKINS, CRUTCHER, ADAMS, and others Researching my mother's VANCE line, ANDERSON, MAPP, HARRALSON, and others Family files may be viewed at <www.familytreemaker.com/users/g/a/r/Cathy-Garrett> Or see the whole compilation at http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/~magarr/

He and Elizabeth had seven sonss, and all but one dropped the E out of their name. I have not yet found which one moved to western NC, but since finding out about dropping the E, I have narrowed it down to one, but due to fires and records being lost I'm having a hard time tying it all together. If anyone could help I would appriciate it.

I would love to see photo and a copy of the family tree from the Bible of Rev. James Edward McClurkin. And I would be glad to share the photos I have of the McClurkins, some going back to Ireland before they came over to America. You can e-mail me your address and I will be glad to share. We do have record of James E. McClurkin killed in Battle of Vicksburg 1864. James married Amanda Owen ca 1860. Amanda later married 2nd time Richard L. Gallatin. We do not have record of James E. & Amanda having children. You have got some information we do not have. This is very interesting. The McClurkin Family is a very thoughtful and caring family. My family is very proud be be part their heritage. Regards, Tommy Ragsdale
