I don't have a lot of info on the Tubb family and am sure that what I do have may not be correct as I have not spent any time checking stuff out. I've spent all my time looking for some connections whether parents or siblings of Wm Wesley J. Worrell b 1811 in NC(?), maybe KY or SC(?) who died, my guess, around 1877 in Perry County, AL. Now I am really curious to look this up about Wiley and Phebe Tubb. I have other questions about Wiley Tubb that you may be able to help with. The info I have is that he was born in 1814 and his wife was Phebe. I don't have any children listed for him but I got an email that said that Reuben S and Wiley B were children of this Wiley Tubb and Phebe. I had thought they were children of John and Louisa Eliza McCrae Tubb. The reason I became curious about Reuben S and Wiley B Tubb is because I saw that they were married to the daughters of Alexander W. Worrell. I was trying to find out if Alexander W. Worrell was brother to Wesley J. Worrell but never was able to find any documentation to that effect. Also, I had children of Sion Tubb as Dollie and Reuben. Then were Dollie, Reuben S and Wiley B all the children of Wiley and Phebe Tubb? Thanks again for your information.

At that time he purchased the southwest quarter of Section 18N 8E (St Stephens meridian). My guess is that he would have first lived on this land and, therefore, may have established a family cemetery nearby. Check the Bureau of Land Management web site to get more detail on all of his land acquisitions. I hope this helps. Good luck, Mike

In the 1800s, Isaac and Whiten Turnbow had land very close to many of our Howell ancestors. Also, there was a Minnie Edna Howell in the family. She was born on December 20, 1868 in Noxubee CO MS. Her father, Benjamin Franklin Howell, was born in Perry CO AL on January 26, 1846. If that fits with any of your Minnie Lee Howell's information, I'm sure that George and I could provide a lot more data on that line. Good luck in your search, Mike Harris

Several of the families that lived nearby had migrated from Oglethorpe CO GA around 1837, so you might investigate Moseleys in that area. Good luck with your research. Mike

I have also been able to pick a little information out of some of the older relatives about "Rob" being a ladies' man and there is a rumor among the family that Rob '"ran off" with some woman who lived around Heiberger. Does anyone know who that woman might be and if she had any children by Rob?

Isaac later married Hattie Lewis from Gadsden, and migrated north, eventually settling in Pittsburgh, PA. Also found several Underwoods in the 1866 Alabama State Census Colored population (Dallas County). A Mrs. C.A.B. Underwood is listed as having a plantation. Can anyone tell me about Mrs. Underwood and what the name of her plantation was. The names on the side of this listing what do they mean? Do they mean that these people still worked on these plantations? Isaac had one sister named Sarah that I know of. Can anyone tell me where I can locate a 1910 or 1900 Perry County Census? All help is appreciated. Happy Holidays!

Once again I am asking the list for help with my Leverett research in Perry County, Alabama. Thank you for considering my query. Charlotte Tucker Tuscaloosa, AL My court house research has shown the following.... Chesley and Delilah [Lagrone]Leverett sold about 80 acres to Samuel G. McLaughlin on January 31, 1872. The land is described as the West ½ of the Northwest ¼ Section 19 in Township 20 of Range 8 [East]. The sale is recorded October 6, 1880, in Perry County Alabama Deed Book SS pages 452, 453. The recorded deed reads: " . we do covenant with the said Samuel G. McLaughlin . that we the said Chesley Liverett and Delilah Liverett are lawfully seized in fee[i] of the afore granted premises . and we have a good right to sell and convey the same to the said Samuel G. McLaughlin ." Chesley Leverett paid Real Property tax on this land in 1849, 1850 and 1851 and again in 1858 in the Old Town District of Perry County, Alabama. The original tax book is held by the Alabama Department of Archives and History, Montgomery. The Bureau of Land Management Eastern States records online states a patent for this specific land description was issued to Washington Dobbins on September 13, 1847.[ii] No record of sale of this land by Washington Dobbins to Leverett has been located at this time. My questions are 1) did Washington Dobbins marry into the LaGrone family? I know Daniel Dobbins (brother to Washington Dobbins) married Anny/Anna LaGrone in Perry County in1839. See the Original marriage bonds for Perry County held by the Alabama Department of Archives and History Montgomery; and 2) Can anyone shed any light as to why Chesley Leverett legally owned this specific land previously owned by Washington Dobbins? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [i] Black's Law Dictionary, Sixth Edition states this means real estate is lawfully owned [ii] www.glorecords.blm.com

Ingrid, I'm sorry for the late response. I have not abstracted the information. Only researched the original books at the Alabama Archives in Montgomery. And, I do not know where the Barron's Beat was located. Charlotte
